With over 20 years as a Labor and Delivery Nurse, Shelly has extensive experience helping new mothers to successfully breastfeed their babies. This gave her a unique view into this very important step between new mother and newborn. After opening Miller Family Pediatrics with her husband, Scott, it seemed like a natural step to bring this to their practice. Now, as a board-certified Lactation Consultant, Shelly is in the perfect position to help new mom's with any lactation questions or concerns, such as exploring various feeding positions, getting the baby to latch correctly and even monitoring for issues arising from lip and tongue tie. Through MFP, Shelly offers support for women who struggle with milk supply and issues regarding engorgement and mastitis. While Lactation Consulting is a relatively new service at MFP, Shelly and her Staff are a deeply experienced and understanding support for new moms as they begin the journey on their motherhood pathway.
